In the Park (What to Do)
Fishing
Lake Gaston is well stocked with game fish including striped bass or rockfish, largemouth bass, crappie, sunfish, and several varieties of catfish. Other species of fish sometimes caught are walleye, yellow perch, and chain pickerel.
Fishing licenses are required. A valid license for Virginia or North Carolina permits fishing in “the lake” in either state, from boats or shore, in waters accessible by boat. No license is required for those under 16 years of age.
Boats
Please be advised we do not have docks available for rent (the ones on campus are privately owned). You may tie up to the shoreline located near the swimming pool.

Playground
Our playground provides and enjoyable place for families to visit while their children play.
Sports
We have a horseshoe pit, a volleyball court, a basketball court. Equipment is available for our guests at the store.
Swimming Pool
We have a beautiful swimming pool available. Children under the age of 14 must have adult supervision, and food, drinks or smoking is not allowed in the pool area (except water, no glass bottles please). We have sunscreen, goggles, earplugs & floats available for sale in the store.
Putt Putt
Located near the pool, cost is $5.00 per person (5 years and under, free) – cash only. Clubs, balls & score cards available in store. Putt Putt is open during store hours only.
Game Room
The campground offers a well-equipped game room, complete with pool tables and a diverse collection of arcade games; additionally, a change machine is available for your convenience.
